Atlanta Falcons quarterback Taylor Heinicke is raising awareness for childhood cancer. During the NFL's My Cause My Cleats initiative, Heinicke is wearing custom-designed cleats to support the Mighty Millie Foundation, a nonprofit that donates organic freezer pops to children undergoing cancer treatment and funds research for more effective and less toxic treatment options.

"I'm honored to be able to support the Mighty Millie Foundation," Heinicke said. "Their work is so important, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help raise awareness for childhood cancer."

Heinicke's cleats are designed to reflect the Mighty Millie Foundation's mission. The Nike cleats feature the foundation's logo, as well as a custom dripping gold popsicle! Gold is the color of childhood cancer awareness.

The nonprofit is founded in honor of Millie Mracek, one of Atlanta’s youngest fighters who passed away from rhabdomyosarcoma in February 2021 after a 10 month battle. Her parents, Nick and Claire Mracek, continue to advocate both locally and nationally for change for childhood cancer.

"I want my cleats to be a symbol of hope for children with cancer," Heinicke said. "I want them to know that they're not alone, and that there are people who care about them and are fighting for them."

In addition to wearing the cleats, Heinicke is also auctioning off the cleats with the proceeds to benefit the Mighty Millie Foundation. He is encouraging fans to get involved by donating to the foundation so more kids fighting cancer have access to popsicles and better treatment options.

"I hope that my involvement with the Mighty Millie Foundation will inspire others to get involved and make a difference," Heinicke said. "Together, we can make a real impact on the lives of children with cancer."

Heinicke's support for the Mighty Millie Foundation is just one example of the many ways that NFL players are using their platform to make a difference in the world. The My Cause My Cleats initiative is a great way for players to raise awareness for important causes and to encourage fans to get involved.

The Mighty Millie Foundation thanks Taylor for his support in the fight against childhood cancer.
